In addition to being a professional appraiser working on complicated properties, Muka has also been the Owner/Operator of multiple businesses with up to 50 employees.

The County needs a competent, experienced, and principled leader of our Assessor’s Office. He understands the demands of public service, the responsibility and accountability that the community expects from local leaders.

He has extensive experience with multiple assessor offices throughout Southern Colorado as a Certified Residential Appraiser since 2020.

The Assessor’s Office will work for the Citizens of El Paso County, not donors and not special interests.

Main Duties

of the
County Assessor

  1. Provide the executive leadership and direct all duties related to the Assessor’s Office, to locate, identify, and appraise all property.

  2. Meet all Statutory requirements of Assessor’s Office, including deliveries of abstract, preliminary and final certification and tax roll.

  3. Manage all levels of real and personal property appeals.

  4. Work collaboratively with elected officials: County Commissioners, Treasurer, County Clerk, District Attorney, Sheriff, Coroner.

  5. Educate the public to ensure no one pays more than their fair share of our local taxes.
